Op zaterdag 29 november 2008 heeft het RONIN M.M.A. team deelgenomen aan een Braziliaanse Jiu Jitsu stage te Blankenberge onder leiding van Senpai Koen Smets, die zich vooral focuste op escapes en submissions vanuit de half guard.

Shihan Eric behaalde er zijn derde streep op zijn blauwe gordel Behring Braziliaanse Jiu JItsu.

De BJJ stage werd ingericht door RONIN M.M.A. onder auspiciën van de BJJB.

Senpai Bert Van Geystelen wordt door Shihan Eric Van Vaerenbergh verplicht om zich op een zo profesioneel mogelijke manier voor te bereiden voor zijn eerste B kamp in M.M.A. Het trainingscircuit van Senpai Bert wordt onder het cross training principe uitgevoerd, waarbij Bert zich onder het toeziende oog van Shihan Eric, moet houden aan alle professionele trap, stoot, slag, worp, veeg, klem en wurgtechnieken, voedingsadvies, spieropbouwende trainingsschema’s, cardio-vasculaire trainingen (zowel op aërobe als op anaërobe drempel, rekeninghoudend met de VO² max waarden en lactaat bloedgehaltes)… zich eveneens moet optrainen bij hogere gordels Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Hybrid Dojo coach Mario D’Hoker & assistent Koen Smets), A klassers M.M.A. (Perfect Team coach Ben Dandois & assistent Tommy Depret) en A klassers Muaythai (Phoenix Valon Team coach Valon Basha & RONIN M.M.A. Oostende coach Andy Vansteene). Shihan Eric Van Vaerenbergh wenst alle bovenvernoemde personen te danken voor hun steun en advies in de cross trainingen en hoopt nog vele jaren te kunnen samenwerken met de M.M.A. top van België  Shihan Eric regelde ook een M.M.A. trainingsweekend met Team Hardcore vechter Danial Sharifi & Michael Knaap, de preciese datum van dit trainingsweekend, waarop iedereen welkom is, wordt binnenkort vrijgegeven.

These are the results of the IBK Benelux championship, organized on 8 november 2008, by the IBK Belgium.
All the fights were in accordance with the matchmaking system, this means that the fighter can only win in a knock out or knock down situation and not on points.
It also means that an appropriate opponent was carefully chosen for each fighter, which also brought superb fights!
Many fighters have experienced that they have had to go to the extreme and sometimes even further …
Some battles were so erect equal, that they lasted more than 7 rounds!!
The spectators were wildly enthusiastic and encouraged the fighters loudly.
This ultimately resulted in the only and real truth…that the winner is the one that remains standing!
